An island alive

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island recalibrates the idea of private
island luxury, where nature and architecture are sensitively blended.
Exceptional dining venues, a world-class lifestyle spa sanctuary,
water sports, and sincerely elegant service for all generations
invite you to a tropical paradise

Where turtles return

Platte's beaches provide nesting habitat for both green and hawksbill turtles.

At different times of year, turtles come ashore to nest and, weeks later, hatchlings make their way from the sand towards the ocean.

The island's environment team monitors this activity and works to protect nesting sites, while guided experiences allow guests to understand more about the turtles and the extraordinary cycle taking place around them.

There are no guarantees with wildlife, nor should there be.

The privilege is simply being on an island where it still happens.

Life on the island

The Waldorf Astoria brings a very different kind of luxury to this remote setting.

Private villas sit among the island's vegetation, each with its own pool and generous indoor and outdoor space, allowing privacy without disconnecting you from the landscape.

Service is polished but the atmosphere remains deliberately relaxed.

Barefoot mornings, long afternoons in the water and evenings beneath an enormous sky are more important here than dressing for dinner.

Beneath the surface

Platte's wilderness doesn't end at the shoreline.

The surrounding reef supports turtles, rays, reef fish and a rich variety of marine life, making snorkelling and diving an essential part of experiencing the island.

Heading into the water changes your perspective completely: the tiny island above the surface is only one part of a much larger ecosystem beneath it.

Whether snorkelling directly from the island or exploring further afield, the Indian Ocean is as much a part of Platte as the land itself.

Days without a timetable

There is plenty to do on Platte, but very little reason to rush.

Snorkel or dive the reef, explore the island by bicycle, take to the water, spend time learning about its wildlife or simply follow the beach until you find somewhere you want to stop.

Fishing, watersports and guided nature experiences can all become part of the stay.

Or don't plan anything at all.

Some islands are best experienced by allowing the day to decide for you.

From island to table

Dining moves between relaxed beachfront meals, Mediterranean and Creole influences, fresh seafood and more intimate experiences shaped around where and how you want to eat.

Produce grown on the island contributes to the kitchens, while the setting allows dinner to be as much about the place as what's on the plate.

A table beneath the stars, bare feet in the sand and a bottle of something very good is perhaps all the description required.

Experience Platte Island with Primaterra

Platte combines two things that rarely coexist so easily: the comfort of an exceptional private-island resort and the feeling that the natural world still sets the rhythm of the day.

Primaterra will shape your time here around what draws you to the island, the ocean and its wildlife, diving, fishing, food, wellness or simply the desire to disappear somewhere beautiful for a while.

Platte can stand alone as an Indian Ocean escape or become part of a wider Seychelles journey.

Luxury, led by nature.
