Ecosystem
The Great Bear Rainforest, called the
Amazon of the North, is the world’s largest intact temperate rainforest biome, with 21millions acres of wilderness.
A critical natural corridor where ocean and land are inextricably connected, this biomass supports more than any other terrestrial ecosystem in the world.
This intertidal zone is home to some of the world’s largest species to the very smallest organisms. Land and sea are so enmeshed and intertwined that they rely heavily on one another for survival. Because of this natural cooperation, the ocean teems with life and the forest thrives
Wildlife
Fawn Bluff offers habitats for an impressive array of wildlife, from coastal marine species to alpine creatures.
The coastal waters offer world renowned wildlife viewing. Orca and humpbacks whales, porpoises, and Pacific white-sided dolphins
are commonly sighted. Otters, sea lions, and seals also frequently join the party.
British Columbia is also a birder’s heaven. From trumpeter swans, brant geese, and bald eagles to owls, songbirds, hummingbirds, all
make their home in the massive area of old growth forest. The Great Bear Rainforest is a sanctuary for
cougars, coastal wolves, grizzly bears, and black bears, feeding along the shoreline and foraging for shellfish

West Coast Cuisine
Fawn Bluff cuisine is committed to
organic, local, and responsibly sourced
ingredients. “We cook as much as we
can on site, from our own fishing, forest
foraging and on-site greenhouse
growth”.
Guests are welcome to join an early
morning fishing session or a foraging
hike with our chef. Through a family
style service around a firepit, Fawn Bluff
cuisine is all about sharing.

More than a place to stay, Fawn Bluff is a destination in itself
The private lodge stretches across 340 acres of
pristine coastline, a lake, rivers, and forests,
with accommodations for up to 12 adults and four children.
At its heart is the Main House, offering
five bedrooms—including a master suite, two junior suites, and twoadditional bedrooms with a shared
bathroom.
The Lake Cabin offers a secluded suite overlooking the glistening Leask Lake, 10 minutes drive from Main House
Fawn Bluff lies along the province’s longest inlet, within the traditional territory of the Homalco First Nation,
known as , the "People of the fast running waters."
Their name speaks to generations of mastery in navigating the nearby Arran Rapids and the notorious Devil’s Hole, a formidable natural whirlpool.
