Story
Primaterra was born from a lifelong connection to the natural world and more than 20 years spent working in the luxury travel industry. I grew up on a farm, surrounded by land, animals and seasons, where an understanding of nature was part of everyday life. That early grounding shaped how I see the world — not as something to consume, but something to care for.
Over two decades, my career in luxury travel allowed me to experience some of the most extraordinary places on Earth. Yet it also made one thing increasingly clear: travel has immense power, and with that power comes responsibility. I wanted to create a company that went beyond showcasing beautiful landscapes and wildlife, and instead played an active role in protecting and restoring them.
Primaterra exists to connect people to nature in a meaningful way. We design high‑end journeys that invite travellers to engage directly with conservation, nature recovery and animal welfare projects — from hands‑on research and restoration to partnerships with local communities and scientific experts. These experiences are immersive, considered and purposeful, created for those who value time, depth and impact as much as comfort.
At its heart, Primaterra is about reciprocity. Travel should leave places better than they were found, create genuine connections, and contribute to the long‑term health of the natural world. Every journey we design is guided by that belief.
